Sarah Palin’s daughter splits from fiancé

Bristol Palin, the daughter of Sarah Palin, Alaska’s governor and last year’s Republican vice presidential candidate, has split from her 19-year-old fiancé Levi Johnston.

According to People magazine the break up happened a few weeks ago. Palin, 18, said she was ‘devastated’ and Johnston confirmed the decision was mutual.

It comes less than three months after the birth of their son, Tripp.

Palin’s teen pregnancy hit the headlines during her mother’s vice presidential campaign last year. Sarah Palin’s campaign supported sex education encouraging abstinence.

Bristol recently told Fox News, ‘Eventually we’d like to get married. We’re focusing on, like, getting through school and just getting an education and stuff, getting a career going.’
