Is this the new Harry Potter?

Marie Claire World News: Brisingr

Are you still mourning the end of Harry Potter? We might have just the thing for you. Brisingr, by novelist Christopher Paolini, is being tipped as the successor to Harry's crown after 15 million copies were sold within two weeks of its international on-sale date.

Part of the Inheritance Cycle of children's fantasy books, Brisingr doesn't go on sale in the UK until tomorrow, but Waterstone's says the hype surrounding it rivals that of JK Rowling's releases.

Author Christopher Paolini is no stranger to success. Still only 24, his first novel, Eragon, which he published at 19, was snapped up by Hollywood and went on to make $250 million at the box office.

'There are some fantastic novels out this Christmas for both children and adults, but Brisingr has the potential to outsell all of them,' Toby Bourne from Waterstone's tells The Telegraph.

'Like Rowling and Philip Pullman, Paolini’s books are great adventure stories but with a lot more going on in their pages than just non-stop action, and keep readers of all ages gripped.'
