Tesco's condom order error
A woman accused her boyfriend of having an affair after Tesco mistakenly added condoms to their online shopping list.
The couple have condemned the supermarket chain, claiming they were responsible for nearly destroying their relationship.
Lynn Newby was all ready to call time on her relationship when she discovered in the couple's 'favourites' section of their grocery order, a packet of 12 condoms had appeared.
Miss Newby, 40, jumped to conclusions immediately and accused boyfriend Andy Allot, 29, of cheating on her behind her back. Even when Mr Allot denied all knowledge of the contraceptives, Miss Newby refused to believe her partner – even threatening to cancel a holiday to Mexico – saying the evidence was there in black and white on their computer screen.
When Tesco investigated the matter, they admitted the mistake was theirs and sent a letter of apology from Chief Executive Sir Terry Leahy, plus a cheque for £100.
A spokesman for the supermarket chain commented to marieclaire.co.uk: 'We are very sorry for any upset caused. Due to human error, the product was added to the customer's favourites item by mistake.
'This was completely unacceptable and staff retraining has been carried out to ensure that this situation cannot be repeated.'

Hmmm, I'm 38 - getting married to a 26 year old [whom first lied to me on his age... hee hee], but I'm not insecure, however, it does seem like she is though. If I were that guy, I would of walked away from the relationship.

This guy should pay them for giving him a heads up about the lack of trust she has towards him. After all there is no one less trusting than a cheater. Think about it, if you have never cheated yourself you are FAR less likely to jump to conclusions involving infidelity than if you yourself are a cheater. She needs to get dumped right quick!

A good relationship takes trust, not insecurity. To have something happen like this and to outright accuse the man you are supposed to be trusting of cheating shows a serious lack of maturity on her part. I've been cheated on before, but I'd never even imagine just outright accusing my husband of cheating, even considering the circumstances.
C'mon lady, you're almost twice my age; grow up.

Um, why didn't anyone assume it was the LADY'S order of condoms? Maybe SHE was the cheater and was thinking fast in accusing him... equal rights!

Poor the woman all these comments from the men are MEAN! She has the right to accuse him because firstly she is 40 and he is 29 so of course she would be insecure second he is a man you never trust them! hahaha

WOW!! Andy, you should consider this whole incident as a lucky break for you. You have seen what a true nutcase you are with. Anyone who would see something like this & instantly assume that you are cheating is an insecure, jelous, loon! GET OUT NOW!!!!

Notice that the woman is 40 and in a relationship with a 29-year-old. Clearly she is an insecure woman. (Ducks.)

This women must be a fickle partner. Poor male partner.
The male partner should have been alert as well and should have accused her as well. He should think twice about the relationship!

Seriously.....? This woman is one of those jealous mad nutters that give the rest of us a bad name. Her boyfriend could just have easily have jumped to the same conclusion about her but oh no, he must be a normal sensible person.

Yes Tesco made a mistake, but to be so insecure that an error like this can almost split you up? I think the couple need to take a closer look at their relationship.
