Good eco habits needed for relationships
Our demands for the perfect partner have stepped up a gear with the checklist of qualities now extending to good eco-credentials as well.
Not content to have the commonly sought after tall, dark, handsome or funny attributes, Britons now expect their partners to prove their eco-habits are up to scratch as well.
A survey commissioned by EDF Energy, of over 2,000 Britons, revealed that caring for the environment is right up there with good dress sense and a sense of humour.
One in five of those surveyed admitted they would give their date the heave-ho if they did not adopt simple eco lifestyle changes such as recyling or re-using plastic bags.
It seems eco issues are rising up the ranks among existing couples as well with one in five (18%) people admitting they have argued with their partner for their lack of care over environmental concerns.
Among the top five green bad habits which caused arguments were leaving lights on, leaving the fridge door open and leaving the tap on while brushing teeth.
