Carla Bruni: I want Sarkozy's baby

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has revealed that she wants to have children with new husband, Nicolas Sarkozy.

In an interview with VSD magazine, the former-model stated that she was not currently pregnant, despite rumours, but was keen to have a child.

At 40 years old, she disclosed her concern that age could pose a problem, 'Will it happen? It is very difficult for me to say. However, it is more difficult when you are 40 than when you are 25.'

Mrs Bruni-Sarkozy already has a son from a previous relationship with philosophy professor Raphaël Enthoven. Their child was born in 2001.

Currently on the publicity trail for her new album, the French First lady also revealed to Inter radio that she had continued her singing career on the advice of Cherie Blair.

'Tony Blair's wife told me that people also took a dim view of her carrying on her career as a lawyer, that she was in court every day', she told the French station, 'She insisted on keeping her profession, that it was fundamental for her. She had to: they've got a lot of children.'

The President's wife will not be touring the album, due to her new status, and all profits will go directly to charity.
