Marie Claire News: Thomas Beatie - Pregnant Man

Thomas Beatie, the transsexual man who became pregnant, has given birth to a healthy baby girl.

Beatie was born a woman, but underwent gender realignment surgery, keeping his female reproductive organs. He is now legally a man.

He became pregnant after being artificially inseminated by an anonymous donor.

Beatie spoke openly of his pregnancy on the Oprah Winfrey show earlier this year, revealing that he had chosen to keep his reproductive organs in the hope of having a child.

He told the chat show host, 'I opted not to do anything with my reproductive organs because I wanted to have a child one day.'

Mr Beatie reportedly had a natural birth, at the St Charles Medical Center in Bend, Oregon.

This is the first child child for Beatie and his wife of five years, Nancy.

How the hell could he have given birth naturally if he has changed his gender?! God help me but this is not natural! I am not judging if they will be good parents or not but it is utterly ridiculous that a 'man' gives birth to a child. If he wanted to bear children, he should have remained female!

He could have the baby naturally considering he still had all of his reproductive organs. After he stopped his testosterone shots, he was then able to start menstrating again... Therefore, he could give birth naturally.
