Bad boys always get the girl

Why do women prefer bad boys? Apparently it's all to do with evolution.

A new study from the States shows that men who are narcissistic, psychopathic and Machiavellian – traits they've dubbed the 'dark triad' – are likely to have more sex than men who don't and, crucially, far more sex than women who have the same tendencies.  

The very reason these undesirable traits haven't died out, is because the guys that have them are breeding more than those who don't.

'We have evidence the three traits are the same thing and may represent a successful evolutionary strategy,' says Peter Jonason, who led the study in New Mexico.

His research is backed up by another study from America which says there is a link between the aforementioned 'bad boys' and reproductive success. 'They are more likely to poach other people's partners for a brief affair,' notes Dr David Schmitt from Bradley University, who surveyed more than 35,000 people in 57 countries.
