Elisabeth Fritzl TV interview

Marie Claire news: Austrian, girl locked up for 24 years

Elisabeth Fritzl is set to give a TV interview about the 24 years she spent imprisoned by her father in an underground dungeon.

It is believed the 42-year-old will speak to the same interviewer who talked to Natascha Kampusch about the eight and a half years she was locked away in a cellar.

Kampusch escaped in 2006 and gave an interview to Austrian ORF TV.

Miss Fritzl could make millions of pounds from the interview in syndicated rights with potentially over 300 TV stations wanting to broadcast it.

In the interview, it is thought Miss Fritzl will discuss the first time she was raped by her father, Josef, and how she survived multiple births on her own in the dungeon.

One reason for the interview is to lessen the pressure on the family from photographers camped outside the hospital where Miss Fritzl is being cared for with her children.

Meanwhile, Josef Fritzl is to undergo DNA testing to find out if he is the killer of three women whose murders have remained unsolved in Austria.

Elisabeth's interview is expected to be broadcast on 26 May.

Elisabeth Fritzl's imprisonment for 24 years, her children born and locked all their lives in the dungeon should not be in vain. For all of us who take everything for granted, every day in our lives, sunlight, fresh air, freedom to live a so called normal life, the view of nature, contact with people, communicating, walking... I mean those are the wonders of the world, the wonders of our lives. We take them for granted but we must appreciate them as magical things. I wish Elisabeth and her children the best things in life - they deserve it.

ELIZABETH FRITEL IS NOT A VICTIM ANY LONGER SHE IS A HERO. SHE IS AN EXAMPLE OF INCREDIABLE STRENGTH AND SOMEONE TO BE ADMIRED FOR HER ABILITY TO SURVIVE AND TAKE CARE OF HER CHILDREN. PLEASE STOP CALLING HER A VICTIM GIVE HER THE TITLE SHE DESERVES HERO.

This woman more that deserves the money she will be paid for the interview after suffering at the hands of her so-called beast of a father.

I wish her and her children all the best and hope they can get through this.
