Jenna Bush weds

President George Bush's daughter, Jenna, was married this weekend in a private service at the family's ranch in Texas.

The bride wore Oscar de la Renta and although the service wasn't broadcast in its entirety, unlike some previous first family weddings, a few select pictures were released to the world's media this morning.

'If they'd have gone on TV, the wedding would have been shown all over the world and Jenna Bush would have been an international celebrity - and she would have been a target,' explained a former aide to President Bush.

'They're preparing the transition to private life and they're not particularly interested in seeing Jenna Bush become a huge celebrity.'

Bush himself told reporters as he boarded Air Force One back to Washington DC: 'Our little girl, Jenna, married a really good guy, Henry Hager. The wedding was spectacular. It's just… it's all we could have hoped for.'

For the couple's first dance, a 10-piece band called The Tyrone Smith Revue played Taj Mahal's Lovin' in my Baby's Eyes, while You are so Beautiful was played for the father-daughter dance.
