Heston Blumenthal saves Little Chef
Star chef Heston Blumenthal is set to transform Little Chef in a new reality TV show.
In Big Chef, Little Chef, the infamous owner of the Fat Duck, who has three Michelin stars under his belt, will attempt to reinvigorate the ageing British roadside diner.
'Heston will be helping us with our menu, the restaurant interiors and our training and service standards. It will be a total re-brand,' says Little Chef's marketing director, Cathy Stevenson.
Filming starts in May, Little Chef's 50th anniversary, and the series will be broadcasted later in the year on Channel 4.
'Nothing is safe with Heston, it is all up for re-invention, it will be a clash of culinary cultures,' added head of features at Channel 4, Sue Murphy.
'He has a nostalgic fondness for Little Chef and he wants to help it move forward for the 21st century.
'It was once a much-loved, but now slightly maligned British institution.'

A fascinating concept. I do wonder what Heston's scientific approach will do to the prices.
