Apple package for all iTunes

Apple logo

Apple may sell iPods and iPhones with unlimited access to its six million songs currently on the iTunes site.

The package - dubbed the 'all you can eat' deal - would cost £50 and is one of two flat fee options being considered by the US company.

The second option would be a monthly subscription of £3-£4 for unlimited access to iTunes. The package would last for the duration of the iPod of iPhone's lifespan.

The current set-up sees customers pay for each download individually. Apple is now in talks with the big record labels over a revenue-sharing deal. One possible option is the companies would receive £30 from the purchase of each iPod of iPhone.

Although the scheme will appeal to many, it does mean that a 4GB iPod Nano would increase in price to £149.
