Britons to spend more than ever this Christmas
BRITONS WILL SPEND more money than ever this Christmas, with the average per person hitting £706.
Adding 7% to last year's average of £662, online spending is set to double, and the amount spent in bars and restaurants celebrating the festive season is expected to rise by 18%.
The poll, conducted by Deloitte, also showed that electrical goods are set to be in high demand for gifts this year. Richard Lloyd Owen of Deloitte commented, 'People feel secure in their jobs and the general sentiment is robust. There's little evidence of cutbacks.'
