Celebrity homes threatened by fire
JENNIFER ANISTON, BRITNEY SPEARS and a host of other stars risk losing their homes as California's forest fires rage out of control.
Five luxury mansions in the exclusive Oceanside Heights - a favourite with celebrities in Malibu - have already been destroyed and more than 1,500 families, including Olivia Newton-John and David Duchovny, forced to flee their homes as the fires get worse.
Arnold Schwarzenegger - California's governor - yesterday declared a state of emergency as hurricane-force dry winds swept through Southern California, making an already difficult situation even worse.
Quite apart from the stars with homes at risk of course are the hundreds of normal residents who have seen homes, churches, shopping malls and more go up in flames. In San Diego, at least one person has died and 19 are injured.
Firemen from LA, Orange County and a host of other counties joined together yesterday in an effort to stop the fire in its tracks, but were still battling the flames in the early hours of this morning.
