Black cab rapist John Worboys is believed to have sexually attacked 102 women
As more women come forward with credible accounts of attacks, the black cab rapist John Worboys could be the UK’s most prolific sex offender to date.
The 53-year-old was jailed indefinitely in April for sexual assault as detectives linked him to at least 83 crimes, but Scotland Yard say another 19 women have reported attacks since then.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: ‘There is a high possibility that more victims are out there. The only person who knows is Worboys himself.’
Worboys, of Enfield, picked up women on their way home after drinking in the West End and Chelsea, coaxing them with a glass of champagne to celebrate a fictitious lottery win.
But the drinks were spiked with a powerful date-rape drug, which left the women unable to protect themselves against his attacks, with many of them unable to remember the details or even the attack itself.
Worboys was found guilty of assaulting 12 women between 2002 and 2007, but a helpline has continued to receive calls from women who say they too were targeted by the serial sex offender.
