The Big Debate: time to leave Kerry alone?
We've all been talking about the recent coverage of Kerry Katona's drug problems in the papers, and it seems we're not the only ones.
In our November issue, columnist Louise Scodie says she's tiring of the 'tragic Kerry' headlines. Do you agree? Do you think Kerry's personal life should stay personal? Are you bored of yet another celeb 'n' cocaine scandal?
But Louise also points out that Kate Moss - another mother who was caught sniffing a suspicious substance - has escaped the public battering dished out to Kerry.
Why do you think the two women are treated so differently? What makes Kerry attract such negative headlines?
This is your chance to share your thoughts with other women who want an intelligent debate on the subjects we're all sharing with our friends.

Yes I think the press SHOULD back off.
She has made a mess of her life - but I feel its not only her drug abuse thats pushing her towards an early grave - the press are too.
When Jade Goody was diagnosed as being terminally ill - the press constantly counted down to her death like they were excited about it and I feel the exact same is being done here
Yes its her fault and she chooses to take the drugs etc - but the constant reporting and digging into her personal life is not helping her at all.

I don't think the press should back off.
If you are in the public eye and getting paid a fortune, then you should know the back lash, should you portray yourself the way that she does!!
The press did not leave Amy Winehouse alone, until she ran away to a desert island and tried to sort herself out. Which seems to have worked!!
LETS NOT FORGET THAT THIS WOMAN HAS CHILDREN!! I just hope that either she gets some help, or someone makes the right decison to allow Brian McFadden to care for his two at least.
Why should mothers automatically keep their children? when it is obvious they can not take care of themselves!! Brian seems like a nice bloke, he earns a good living, and even if he didn't, there are lots of fathers who do a fantastic job, without all the money.
IT IS NOT A WOMENS RIGHT TO HAVE A CHILD!! put the children first, and give the rights to the one who will do the best job for a change!!
I am sick of feeling sorry for these people, they have had it all, and then lost it all through drugs, booze whatever!! How shallow can you get? Surely, looking at your children on a Come down should sort you out!! And if not, why should they get any simpathy from anyone, it is their choice!!
THEY HAVE AN ADDICTION, NOT A TERMINAL ILLNESS!!

I am sick of seeing Kerry (and all like her) face in the paper. why should she still get publicity.
Take drugs you can keep your kids and everyone will feel sorry for you NO WAY!
I know kids my sons age 4 and older that know how mummy (and Daddy) get high, they could teach adults a thing or two.
I would never pick any thing over my kids and it just shows that people like miss Katona do not care about there kids lives.
And what if these kids get hold of the drugs?

I think it's as much about the people around her as it is her. Her life is chaos, and there are people such as her husband who seem to be getting something out of her being a car crash. Until she is removed from her current situation and away from the negative people in her life, she will never have a chance to gain some perspective on her behaviour and then do something about it. As it is at the moment, and with the added issue of her mental health, she doesn't stand a chance and the press will watch with glee as she falls further providing them with lazy reporting fodder. It all seems a bit hopeless.
