Former nursery nurse Vanessa George is given an indeterminate sentence for her horrific crimes against children
After a series of sickening sexual assaults on the children in her care at the
Little Ted nursery in Plymouth, former nursery nurse
Vanessa George, 39, was yesterday sentenced during a four-hour hearing in Bristol.
The mother-of-two was told by the judge, Mr Justice John Royce, that her crimes had ‘plumbed new depths of depravity‘. She will serve at least seven years then her case will be reviewed by the Parole Board, which may result in her spending the rest of her life behind bars.
Many parents are still distressed as George has failed to accurately identify exactly which children she abused. She sent 124 obscene photographs of various children who attended the nursery to businessman Colin Blanchard, whom she met on Facebook.
Formerly a trusted worker, George became obsessed with meeting men online for sex and had already had a six year affair behind her husband Andrew’s back. Paedophile Blanchard became an online accomplice, although they only met for the first time at the trial.
There will be many parents out there hoping that George never sees the outside of a prison cell again.
