Suspect is still found guilty of seven other muggings

One of two brothers who targeted lone women has been found guilty of seven muggings but cleared of an attack on Nicole Farhi, the designer, which his brother has admitted. Matthew Mykoo, 27, was found guilty of seven ‘strangulation robberies’ on lone women in London between March and June last year. Matthew was cleared of robbing Ms Farhi but his brother Daniel had already admitted the offence.

Mykoo, of Windsor Road, Brent, north London, and his 28-year-old brother Daniel targeted a string of women in wealthy areas of London, the jury at Wood Green Crown Court heard. Addressing Matthew Mykoo in court, Judge Nicholas Browne QC said: ‘I warn you now in very clear terms that the sentence which I impose on you in late July will be measured in many years.’

The jury heard that the Mykoo brothers followed their victims before striking and robbing them of jewellery and money, with Daniel attacking from behind and Matthew snatching their valuables.

Ms Farhi was attacked as she went to open the front door of her Hampstead home in April last year. She told the court how she was strangled until she blacked out and was then robbed of a ring, money and her Rolex watch.

‘One hand came on to my eyes, the other on to my throat. He squeezed and I fainted. My last thought was how stupid to die in front of my house.’ CLICK HERE FOR MORE WORLD NEWS
