Politics gets fashionable

With the upcoming elections in mind, the Think Act Vote campaign is reaching out to voting novices by bringing political activism under the fashion radar, starting with a fashion-forward T-shirt competition.

With a sense of political apathy clear amongst many British groups, the campaign aims to give a voice to those who may not ordinarily consider voting and to get them thinking about how politics affects them, asking, 'What's the future you choose?'

Up and coming creatives were set the task of incorporating the Think Act Vote slogan in a design with a view to getting people thinking about their right to vote.

Founder, Amisha Ghadiali, who's aiming to make politics more wearable, says: 'We want to use creativity to create a community around the choices we make for our future.'

The winner will be announced at a suitably style savvy launch party next Wednesday at eco-fashion boutique Ascension. The T-shirt will then be produced by Komodo and available to purchase online and in selected shops.

Having kick-started the vogue for political thought, Think Act Vote will be holding alternative elections later in the year, where ordinary people from across the country can post their responses about their wishes for the future. The ballots will then be delivered to 10 Downing Street the day after the official election results are in.

It's all very well getting young people to vote, but who do they vote for when there is not a scrap of difference or even decency between the political parties?

I hear u whats the point in voting when all poloticians are talking bout the credit crunch but what have they all got in common....MONEY! Even though they have been hit by the credit crunch they have only got their 50 million instead of 60 million or how ever much they have seriously x
