Given how we have bailed out the banks it would now be a good time for banks to payback and cancel Haiti's debts so it can get build its self again just like the banks have.

Its always been a poor country steeped in mystery and stuff..but it sure could use a huge helping hand...not just money but people coming in to rebuild, businesses and on the spot help not in years time but now...and somewhere for the orphaned children to stay and adults in trouble..That would be good. The need for stronger buildings is a great necessity good foundations. And what about all the animals injured in the earthquake???

the poor people have a hard enough life, without coping with this awful tragedy, write the debt off and let them build up their country up

Yes the banks should definitely write the "debt" off. Do these people actually owe any money at all?
