Whitney Houston charity gig
Whitney Houston will launch her comeback by taking to the stage for a one-off charity gig performance.
The troubled singer will perform her greatest hits for the Caudwell Children's Legend Ball at Battersea Evolution on 8 May.
The annual event always draws in a celebrity crowd and last year saw Tina Turner perform, raising £1.2 million for disabled children. Organisers this year expect the event to break the record for funds raised.
The news follows a recent announcement that Whitney will release a comeback album this November, hoping to lay to rest her drug-addled past and difficult divorce from husband Bobby Brown.
John Caudwell, the charity's founder said of the announcement: 'We are thrilled to have an artist of Whitneys calibre to headline the event. Last year was a huge success and with Whitneys support, we are fully expecting this years event to be bigger and better than ever.'
