Hold on to your favourite filter guys because Instagram has just made some massive changes

Hold on to your favourite filter guys because Instagram has just made some of the biggest changes in its fve and half year history.

That’s right, the much-loved app has just dropped its biggest update since it launched and not only does that mean a refresh to the user interface, but a brand spanking new logo to boot.

BEHOLD...

In a statement Instagram said: ‘When Instagram started, it was a primarily a place to edit and share photos. Five years later, it's a global community of interests where people share photos and videos, use new tools like Boomerang and Layout, and connect with others through Explore.

‘We've been inspired by all the ways the community has grown and changed, and we wanted to create something that reflects how vibrant and diverse storytelling on Instagram has become.’

Inspired by the launch logo, the new imagery – which will unify Instagram and its associated apps Hyperlapse, Boomerang and Layout - is meant to represent ‘a more versatile camera’.

As well as this a new simpler design (and that means, say hello to sleek new white framed design to make your pics really pop) to the user interface aims to put more focus on photos and videos without changing how we use the app.

‘We designed this look to reflect the community’s full range of expression – past, present, and future. We hope the community will see this look as a new creative spark,’ said Instagram.
