A scientific study has shown that women who eat lunch out lose less weight than those who stay at home.
Writing in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, researchers found avoiding restaurant meals, keeping a food diary and making sure you don't skip meals were the key to successful slimming.
They also found women who ate out for lunch at least once a week lost five pounds less than those who ate at home.
Dr Anne McTiernan, who led the study says eating out could prompt unhealthy diet choices.
'Eating in restaurants usually means less individual control over ingredients and cooking methods, as well as larger portion sizes.'
