We know pomegranates boost our health but according to new research they could also increase our sex drive and improve our mood.

Researchers from Edinburgh’s
Queen Margaret University found testosterone levels increased by approximately 16 to 30 per cent in men and women drinking a glass of pomegranate juice a day.

The effects of testosterone in women cause a surge in sex drive and strengthen bones and muscles. It is also known to improve moods, memory and can help with nerves.

The research team also noted that positive emotions were elevated and negative feelings decreased, along with blood pressure, in both genders.

As well as being packed with antioxidants, pomegranate juice has also been previously proven to fend off heart diseases, cancer and stomach upsets.
