A conversation with an attractive woman impairs a man's cognitive functioning, a new study has found.

Men suffer an immediate decline in IQ when they interact with women, and the change is most pronounced when the women is perceived as attractive.

Women, however, are more level-headed. They can chat and flirt with attractive men without any decline in IQ.

Psychologists at Radboud University in the Netherlands introduced 50 men and 60 women in different pairings, and gave them an IQ test afterwards.

They found that the men's IQ declined after talking to a woman, and most steeply if the woman was perceived as more attractive.There was no decline in women's IQ.
