By Elizabeth Heathcote on Monday 11 May 2009
Seven new cases of swine flu have been confirmed in the UK, bringing the total here to 55.
Three adults and four children were confirmed as having swine flu, six in London and one in eastern England, according to the Telegraph.
Two of the adults had been in contact with previously confirmed cases. All four children "may have acquired the infection before the closure of their school", according to health officials.
A school in Middlesex is to close for a week after a pupil was suspected of having swine flu.
A further 384 cases are under investigation, said a spokeswoman for the Department of Health. All cases in the UK have so far been mild.
