Britain's first divorce fair

The Starting Over Show (SOS), held in Brighton on Sunday, was dubbed the first divorce show in Britain.

Exhibitors at SOS included solicitors, financial advisers and life coaches. There were also pastors taking part in "letting go ceremonies" to help people achieve closure, and feng shui experts.

The show was organised by Suzy Miller, 44, from Forest Row near East Grinstead, who separated from her long-term partner in 2003.

"What shocked me was that there was nothing really out there," Suzy told the Telegraph. "I was seeing a lot of my friends going through the same as me and yet there was very little help available."

Her ex and his new partner came to the show to support her. "People should realise they can make it work," Suzy said. "It takes a lot of patience, a lot of courage, but life is too short and sweet to live it unhappily."
