Overweight women unlucky in life

marie Claire Health news: Obesity

Overweight women suffer from obvious problems, such as worrying about their health or shopping for fashionable clothes, but a new study says their weight can affect surprising other areas of their life too.

A larger lady is more likely to lose her job, face financial difficulties and be a victim of crime – or be a criminal herself!

Even worse, these stressful situations mean they are more likely to comfort eat, adding to their weight and increasing the risk they will suffer more bad luck.

It is widely accepted that stress can lead to obesity, but the new study suggests the opposite is also true – the overweight suffer the most stress.

Researchers from the University of Connecticut studied over 41,000 adults who kept 'stress diaries' for over a year showing when they suffered the most stressful events.

The results showed obese women were more likely to be sacked or made redundant, face money troubles and suffer the death of a friend or relative.

'Stress can lead to obesity. But the opposite is also true with the seriously overweight suffering the most stress by contributing to poor health or social factors like workplace discrimination,' said researcher Nancy Petry.

Large women may have the last laugh though – the study also revealed they were less likely to break up with a long-term partner or go through a divorce.

I think that completely rubbish to state that overweight women are unlucky.
I myself very much in control of my overweight, always smiling, always happy and also very much loved and loving it.
Since when does your weight control your state of happiness.
Not at all!!!

My daughter is 24 and obese. She was recently let go from a job, where all the girls her age looked like models. Before that she felt very discriminated against-much to her surprise- at another job because she looked heavy.
