Perfect body shape to attract mate
Women with small bodies and long legs are the most attractive shapes for men, scientists say.
Add to that a large bust and apparently you have the perfect form to attract a mate, say researchers from Brunel University.
Celebrities including Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Weisz and Marilyn Monroe who all have short, slim bodies, large busts and slender legs have the ideal body shape.
The research also highlighted body symmetry as an important factor for what both men and women find aesthetically pleasing.
Previous studies have shown that symmetrical facial features are more attractive to the opposite sex. However scientists are less clear about how much people are attracted to body symmetry.
The research conducted at Brunel University suggests that both sexes find symmetric bodies more attractive than asymmetric ones.
However, scientists believe that we don't actually recognise body symmetry directly and instead hunt for more obvious signs of beauty such as leg length, height and shoulder definition.

Like doh! Tell us something we don't know - big boobs, tiny body and long legs. Personally I'd like someone to actually say that small breasts are a winner instead!

Yes personally I have to agree with Karen, on the small breasts issue- anything more than a handful is just a waste! Maybe we should take into consideration of women who might be insecure, and reading an article like this really does the self esteem no good at all!

As someone with definitely more than a handful up top, I can say that it's just as insecure on the other side of the fence Kat! Perfection doesn't exist nor does the 'perfect' body. As women we're are all unique, all individual and all extremely desirable in our own way. I'm sure most men appreciate this too. Which is, I guess why some men have small hands...and some men have big hands...

Why publish such an obvious article highlighting yet again the growing concerns women have with their bodies?! This article mearly suggests that men asked liked this particular figure- but of course they would. Were they asked if the also enjoyed women with smaller breast, legs etc? Even so, who cares?

So..in other words - Barbie!

I have long legs and big boobs and I don't get much male attention at all. I don't think it's just me either - I know a few women who would match that shape and they remain single. I think men are more drawn to petite women but when asked in a survey they don't want to admit they are intimidated by Marilyn malone types.

Tee hee what a silly article, I am the total opposite short legs, long body and small boobs but who cares I think its more about personality and why waste your life worrying about it!

I have that body type exactly (unfortunately without the mega flat tummy of mentioned stars, c'est la vie it's not my job to be perfect).
I don't get much male attention at all. 5 8" & busty. Always feel that men go for (as commented by orl) petite women. They need to feel dominant. I am always disappointed by the small skinny blonde choices of my male friends! Orl, I agree totally they lie to be cool. (to put it in laymans terms!)
And to top it off try finding clothes that fit! it's a nightmare, I have to wear up too two sizes bigger on top but nothing looks fitted so gives the illusion of being bigger. I'm a 10 on the bottom!

Orl, I think you're very cynical about this article. As a male, I totally agree. Slim bodies, long slender legs and a reasonable pair of boobs what we look for, and yes, symmetry helps, but I totally agree that its not the first thing you notice.
If you don't get much attention, but fit those criteria, it is probably for a different reason, such as bad dress sense, not much presence of personality, or off features which guys notice rather than your body and legs.
Basically, its the most noticeable thing about you that guys are going to look at first, if this happens to be a wonderful personality, we practically ignore what you look like much of the time anyway. If its a large set of breasts, then some guys won't really be bothered about the shape of the rest of your body.
But on an average objective look at attractiveness, I would say the above is pretty much true!
