Biological babies for gay couples

Baby

Same-sex couples could one day create their own biological children if important research goes ahead, a group of scientists said yesterday.

Currently, the creation of egg and sperm cells from other cells in the body is at an early stage. However, the influential Hinxton group - which is made up of 40 renowned scientists - believe within 15 years the breakthrough could be used to create human foetuses.

'The real ethical issue at the moment is to ensure that the important scientific research can continue,' John Harris, a member of the group and a professor at the University of Manchester, said at an ethics and stem cell research conference.

The controversial Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill currently does not allow artificial eggs and sperm cells to be given to infertile women, however, Liberal Democrat MP Evan Harris has tabled an amendment asked that such cells be used in fertility clinics without cause for extra legislation.

What about 'rejects'? The likelyhood that some monsters will be created is high, it is obscene.
If this is possible single gender couples will undoubtably scream for their 'rights'. This is a travesty of nature quite apart of being a waste of scarce resources.

This is the way of the future!

In my opinion god would not have given us a brain if he did not intend us to use it to advance ourselves.
This will only be a travesty if we start using the advancement to create 'super-humans' rather than create babies for those that cant themselves like infertile men and woman or same sex couples.

Same sex couples deserve rights and it will happen. The question is how long will it take for people that think the same as the person above/below to accept change?
