Move over Red Bull, Kambucha tea is the latest energy-boosting drink - and it's full of health-giving properties to boot. Celebrities such as Kirsten Dunst, Halle Berry, Madonna and Meg Ryan have all been spotted sipping on Kombucha, an ancient remedy from China that's said to contain a whole host of health-boosting properties. Made from an infusion of green tea, black tea and sugar being metabolised by the Kombucha mushroom, the yeasts break down the sugar and combine with the tea to form powerful anti-oxidants, minerals and vitamins, which work to fight wrinkles, diabetes and to support the immune system. Its greatest health benefit, however, is that it's packed full of Probiotic bacteria - a gut-friendly bacteria that packs a powerful energy punch, increases metabolism and aids weight loss, cleanses the blood of disease-inducing toxins, and reduces cholesterol. It's even said it helps curb alcohol cravings (obviously not so in the case of Kirsten Dunst, but we'll try it and see for ourselves!). This wonder-product, Gaia's Organic Kombucha, will be hitting UK shelves in March and will be available to buy from www.gokombucha.com. So keep your fingers on the mouse - before all the celebrities get there first!
