Male botox on rise
SIMON COWELL SEEMS to have sparked a trend: botox is on the rise among middle-aged men.
Plastic surgeons have reported a surge in the number of men requesting the anti-aging injections, with figures up by a third at some clinics.
'Over the past year we've seen a significant increase in men coming along for consultations for non-surgical treatments such as botox,' Savina O'Neill, of London Plastic Surgery Associates, tells the Mail.
'These anti-ageing measures are no longer just part of the woman's domain - most men are now aware of the long term importance of a good skincare regime, and appreciate a little external help when it's needed.'
And it's not just requests for botox on the rise amongst Britain's male population, tummy tucks, liposuction and face-lifts are also becoming increasingly popular.
"Men use face creams and go to the spa and to the gym, so why not look after their wrinkles?" asks Dalia Nield, consultant plastic surgeon at the London Clinic in Harley Street.
