In highly expected news it has come to light that Game of Thrones is so damn popular it is having an impact on our porn viewing habits.

When the first episode of season six dropped on Sunday 24 April 2016 traffic to one of the most popular porn sites in the world fell off a cliff. And there’s a graph to show it…

While a 4% drop doesn’t sound like a lit, the statistic quite literally translates into millions of users.

However, things get more interesting as insights from Pornhub demonstrate that immediately after the episode finished GoT related searches increased by 370%.

This isn’t the first time popular shows and/or events have made a mark on the porn industry.

For example, recent data released by Pornhub showed that in the days leading up to and including St Patrick’s Day (no prizes for guessing where we’re going with this) the number of people searching for ‘leprechaun’ rose by over 8,000%.

The way we search for and view porn has drastically changed in a short space of time. Earlier this year Pornhub announced it is now offering a service called ‘Emoji 4 Porn’ where customers can text an emoji of their choice to a special porno-service number and wait for the corresponding suggested videos to be sent right back to their smartphone.
