Hermès' new creative director Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski has got one impressive CV...

For once the fashion rumour mill has been proved right - following the sudden departure of Christophe Lemaire from iconic French fashion house Hermès, the brand have announced a new womenswear creative director, Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski.

While Nadège is not yet a household name, her impressive CV, including tenures at Celine and Margiela, implies that she's more than ready for the role.

‘Her talent and her creative track record will be great assets in the continued development of women's ready-to-wear,' Hermès’ CEO Axel Dumas told WWD. 'She will devote herself full-time to our house.’

Here’s what you need to know about the 36-year-old designer.... She's been poached from Mary-Kate and Ashley... The Olsen sister's label The Row must be sad to loose such a talent. But who turns down the opportunity to be creative director at Hermès? Also, imagine her leaving drinks?!

She’s French. How fitting for a Parisian fashion house, non? Vanhee-Cybulski follows in the footsteps of Jean Paul Gaultier and Christophe Lemaire, who also took the helm of the label in the early stages of their now legendary careers.

She’s got a pretty stellar CV... This might be her first gig calling all the shots, but Vanhee-Cybulskihad had a stint as a senior designer under Phoebe Philo’s direction at Céline from 2008-2011 and spent time at Maison Martin Margiela’s Parisian atelier before that.

She graduated from Antwerp’s Royal Academy... If you’re going to study fashion on the continent, this is where to do it. Antwerp’s Royal Academy famously churned out the ‘Antwerp Six’ (Walter Van Beirendonck, Ann Demeulemeester, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Van Saene, Dirk Bikkembergs and Marina Yee) back in the eighties, plus Martin Margiela, and a slew of reputable designers since.

She’ll debut her first collection for Hermès next March. Christophe Lemaire may be leaving to focus on his own line, but he’s still got one more season to go. He’ll show his last collection for the French luxury brand in October at Paris Fashion Week. The following season will be when Nadège takes the reins. We can't wait to see what she does with the place.
