Jimmy Choo name ex-John Galliano CEO as new boss

By Fiona Raisbeck - Tuesday 24 July 2012

Luxury accessories label Jimmy Choo has appointed former John Galliano managing director, Pierre Denis, as the brand's new Chief Executive Officer.

Denis, who has previously worked at the likes of Guerlain, Givenchy, Christian Dior Couture and, most recenently, John Galliano since 2008, will take up the position left vacant by former Jimmy Choo CEO Joshua Schulman, who left the company along with the brand's founder Tamara Mellon in November last year following the label's takeover by Swiss firm Labelux.

Reinhard Mieck, CEO of Labelux, said in a statement: 'We are delighted to welcome an executive of Pierre's calibre to the Labelux family. With his unrivalled experience of the international luxury sector and keen understanding of our business, Pierre is without question the right person to drive forward the Jimmy Choo business and exploit the enormous growth potential of what is an exceptional brand.’

Denis began his career in the perfumes and cosmetics division of the luxury goods conglomerate LVMH working with brands such as Parfums Christian Dior and Guerlain, before joining Christian Dior Couture as Managing Director for Asia in 2004. Two years later, he switched to MD for Europe, the Middle East and India, before joining John Galliano where he managed the business side of operations and expanded the global reach of the brand.
