Lanvin keeps it real for A/W'12 in new ad campaign

By Chloe Mac Donnell - Friday 20 July 2012

French fashion house Lanvin has cast 'real people' in its upcoming autumn/winter 2012 advertising campaign.

According to the label, the new ads aim to celebrate 'individuals with individuality. Reality... not reality stars'.

Shot by photographer Steven Meisel, all the images feature a mix of regular people who range from just 18 right through to 82-years-old.

Alber Elbaz, Creative Director of Lanvin, told WWD: 'I was interested to bring these clothes back to the street somehow, and seeing how they look on different ages, different sizes.'

He added: 'It felt like a crazy family, and I like that.'

The 'crazy family' includes a waiter, a milliner, a recent US immigrant and an 82-year-old lady who at the age of eighteen dreamt of being a model in Paris.

There is even a slightly bedraggled family dog sitting on top of a luxurious velvet chair, surrounded by those opulent looking jewelled bags and shoes we lusted after when we first spotted them on the autumn/winter 2012 catwalk.
