Show report: Gareth Pugh A/W'12

Gareth Pugh chose to unveil his Autumn/Winter collection in the less than salubrious surroundings of a disused garage in the Rue de Turenne on day one of Paris Fashion Week - the perfect setting for this tough, unflinching show.
The big guns just about made it to the capital in time for the six o'clock start (make that a quarter to seven - fashionably late, naturally) and Pugh was on ebullient form, greeting select guests and chatting to Jefferson Hack and Daphne Guinness before taking a front row seat to watch the action.

In suitably autumnal form, leaves began falling from the skies as the models stepped out in stark, architectural creations that were unmistakably Pugh.
Plumed coats, thigh-high trouser-boots, stiff leather cowl-necks that verged on the wimple and form-fitting tunics that looked almost like armour, were the order of the day. This all-black collection drew on Rooney Mara's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo look - fierce, strong and not to be trifled with.
Another creative, challenging and unforgettable collection from the master of the unconventional.
