Marc Jacobs to take over at Dior?
By Fiona Raisbeck on Monday 22 August 2011
Ever since John Galliano was sensationally sacked from Christian Dior in March following his anti-Semitic rant, many a rumour has been swirling about who is likely to take his place at the famous fashion house.
Well, we maybe a little closer to finding out as reports surfacing on WWD this morning suggest that Marc Jacobs is in talks to take over as creative director of Dior.

It’s understood that Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of the French luxury goods conglomerate, LVMH, which owns Dior, is willing to reshuffle some of the designers within his group to fill the vacant spot.
This would see Marc Jacobs, who currently designs for Louis Vuitton, take over at Dior and Celine’s Phoebe Philo replace him at Vuitton, as well as continue to design for the French luxury label.
Other contenders who were hotly tipped for the Dior job, including Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz and Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, are all reportedly out of the running with Jacobs allegedly ‘excited’ at the prospect of joining Dior.
While Jacobs and Dior are keeping schtum on the matter, talks between the American designer’s legal representatives and the fashion house are expected to be finalised this week in Paris.
