By Sarah Karmali  on Thursday 2 September 2010

World's first 'boob lift' bra from Ultimo - Innovative, technology, advanced, support, lingerie, underwear, fashion, news, Marie Claire

Today marks the unveiling of Ultimo's latest lingerie release, an innovative new uplift bra designed to imitate the effects of a cosmetic boob lift.

SEE KELLY BROOK'S SIZZLING ULTIMO SHOOT HERE!

The ICON bra - thought to be among the most technologically-advanced underwear in the world - contains a secret sling hidden within the cup, to create maximum uplift, while the inclusion of microscopic fibers and compressed foam, work to achieve optimum shape and contouring.

The result of two years' worth of research and a whopping six-figure sum, the ICON is not only incredibly lightweight - meaning it's as comfortable as it is effective - but also works to prevent future shape-loss in breasts.

'Ultimo ICON is the world’s first boob lift bra and light years ahead of other bras out there,' says creator Michelle Mone.

'Not only does ICON dramatically uplift the breast, but it’s also the most comfortable and lightweight bra in the world – women won’t even know they’re wearing it!'

The bra is designed for women of all ages - to help achieve a more youthful, shapely silhouette.

'It works to prevent younger breasts from sagging,' explains Michelle. 'And for women who already have saggy boobs, it uplifts the breasts in an instant to the perky pair they once were, making the breasts look up to ten years younger just like a boob lift.'

The Ultimo ICON, £19, is available to buy online now - get shopping here!

I'm sure it's a lovely, lightweight bra to wear and that the effects of wearing it are amazing but, watch out you voluptuous ladies out there! Don't believe them when they say it is available for all shapes and sizes - THEY LIE!

I clicked the link, all excited. An uplift bra for all shapes and sizes that doesn't make you feel trussed up and restricted? What more could a girl ask for. Lo and behold, no cup sizes above a D! Obviously, us ladies or the larger boobs don't need uplift hey?

Very Disappointed! :(

What a con - they only do the bra up to a D-cup. Michelle Mone said this bra is for women of all shapes and sizes. They've missed a trick there because women with larger breasts are likely to be flocking to buy an uplift bra. I am a 34G myself and would definitely buy it. Nothing new here!
Comment by Louise on September 02 13:17

Typical! Only goes up to a D cup!! Us bigger-bosom'd girls suffer from saggage you know, even more than the smaller ladies I'd imagine......
Comment by Clarabella on September 02 13:26

I too was very disappointed that it only goes up to a D cup....what about us well endowed girls....
Comment by Fiona on September 02 14:34

I think its a fantastic idea! My boobs have shrunk over the years and this is a great way for me to boost what I no longer have without spending on surgery.
I understand the frustrations of the girls over D cup - but you should be happy at least that you have something to fill a bra....many of us dont!
Comment by Savanah on September 02 16:51

Oh girls - not again! I am a 46JJ and have an absolute NIGHTMARE finding comfortable, really supportive bras. Just about EVERY lovely looking, well made bra comes in "all shapes and sizes" which as you all know means 34 C tops - HELP! WHEN will someone make a really strong comfy uplift bra for the larger lady (front loading would be wonderful as they are SO much less pressure on the neck). There are hundreds of bras for smaller women - OUR TURN PLEASE! Michele Mohn take NOTE! Up to a 50 JJ would be good!

This is another one of those gimmicks. First puma comes up with trainers that suppose to give you a toned bum and now a bra that gives boob lift, padded bras are good enough for me. Not falling into this trap, end off.
Comment by Linh on September 02 18:13

Very disappointing that it only goes up to a D cup, this is yet another product that has been brought on to the market without thinking about all shapes & sizes. People can very well say at least you have something to fill your bra with, but the bigger your boobs the more saggy they look. In my opinion this bra i meant to be a lift for boobs therefore it would suit larger boobs, for smaller boobs get a padded bra that will make them look bigger. Sorry to anyone who disagrees with this but Im fed up with new products coming out for smaller boobs & not larger boobs, its not my fault I have then & if I could afford it I would have a reduction, but seen as I can't please start bringing products out for larger boobs
Comment by Gemma on September 02 18:38

Well, I clicked on the link, waiting with baited breath to see the bra that will lift my spirits as well as my boobs - as many of the others who have already commented on this article have already mentioned, I was bitterly disappointed. I was ready to wax some serious cash on this bra, only to see my E cups are not accommodated for.

Gutted :(
Comment by Ribbsy on September 02 21:34

I would like to know just who these bra companies are making bra's for?! Surely at least half the population now have boobs over a D cup? Savanah I understand that we larger busted ladies do have something to fill a bra but if there are no bra's made for us we are left dangling - quite literally! I find there is only one company who actually make decent, sexy and pretty bra's that fit properly and they cost £30 per bra, before you've even thought about matching knickers. I would like to see more companies ranging from an AA right through to a JJ and charging a reasonable price. I'm fed up with my boobs causing me financial woes as well as back problems.

Please take note Ultimo!

"but you should be happy at least that you have something to fill a bra....many of us dont!"

But size = weight, which means its far quicker that our boobs are round our ankles and in need of droopage support!
Comment by Cat on September 03 10:55

Thank you Cat for responding to Savanah, just what I wanted to say!

@ Savanah - I admit I would hate not having my puppies but as I grow older, they are more like rottweilers heading for my knees....
Comment by Clarabella on September 03 12:24

I honestly wonder why they have bothed making this just up to a size d? Im a 32 gg ..and I would of been very happy to buy this ..hell a few of them ..but as usal it's only for women who have small perky boob's ..pfft
So I guess us ladies with larger boob's will have too find a lotta cash to get a up lift when Our boob's start heading south huh .! :(
Comment by poppy on September 03 15:26

very dissapointed! only goes up to a D cup! its large breasted ladies like myself (GG) who need the uplift!
Comment by Sarah on September 03 19:09

It still doesn't solve the problem, when you take your bra off saggy boobs again, at least with surgery they stay the same size
Comment by Jackie on September 04 14:41

I too was very disapointed having had three children, lost weight over the years my boobs could do with all the help thats out there and my bra size is a 34F, i was really excited about this new bra until i looked on the page and it only goes up to a D cup, come on Michelle cater for everyone
Comment by Dawn McWhinnie on September 05 17:46

i have just ordered this bra and when i get it and try it on i will let all you women know what its really like i am lucky im only a 30c and it makes a change that i can buy my size i usually have to buy a 32c cuz i can never get a 30c so well done so far
Comment by wendy on September 05 18:44

i am so very intrested in what all you girls are saying!! but this is the problem i have been making bra,s for 17yrs i too am a 34E so i know exactly where all you girls are coming from , ...its not easy making a bra for big boobs thats both uplifting and comfortable! not mention pretty , if you have large boobs any bra that you buy on the market is going to be uncomfortably pretty , or perfect fit ugly? does any one agree? the trouble is most the lingrie bosses are men! and dont understand ! but i was so excited to hear of the ultimo bra because the boss is a women its her idea and she too at one time was a big lady that must understand the discomfort that bras bring us!but so disapointed to find that she only did a range to suit up to a D cup ,ive got great ideas of getting us all in comfortable attractive bra,s but my ideas will allways fall on deaf ears because i work for a man, i hope the message all us ladys are sending out reaches michelle mone and hopefully she,s working on something for us big girls soon!
