Erin O'Connor visits India with TRAID
By Jess Wood on Monday 1 February 2010
Fashion charity TRAID is one of our favourite organisations. Their network of shops are top of our list for their brilliant array of the hottest 'pre-loved' pieces around, and they also proactively work to make the industry a more ethical place.
Supermodel Erin O'Connor is the latest fashionista to get involved. To mark the charity's 10th anniversary, she recently visited TRAID's 'Cutting the Chains' project in Delhi. The project provides legal and mental support to help the women textile workers who supply embroidery and handiwork to the UK high street, helping them negotiate their own wages and avoid paying local 'middle men'.
You can see for yourself as fascinating pics from Erin's trip will be exhibited at the Richard Young gallery in Kensington, West London from tomorrow to the 8th February.
We're also uber-excited that TRAID have just launched their first-ever transactional website, selling their recycled fashion label TRAID reMADE - check it out at www.traidremade.com
