Sarah Jessica Parker appointed design role at Halston

Sarah Jessica Parker takes design role at Halston - Fashion news - Marie Claire Rex Features

Sarah Jessica Parker is set to work her magic on fashion house Halston, having just signed a deal to take on an active design role within the company.

Attention all SATC fans! This is a celebrity-designer collaboration well worth sitting up and taking note of...

Our fave fashionista is going to be working with Halston Heritage - the fashion house's newly-launched secondary collection.

We're thinking Lindsay Lohan at Ungaro - but with, hopefully, a somewhat greater degree of success.

But not only is she going to be taking on an active design role, SJP may even be stepping her well-heeled foot forward as Creative Director.

Although her exact title has yet to be officially announced, the company has confirmed the appointment, saying it will reveal more details at a later date.

And the actress is already clearly a fan of the brand, most notably sporting a Halston LWD in the campaign posters for Sex and the City 2.

Their secondary line, Halston Heritage, was created to produce updated versions of classic Halston pieces - but with a more affordable price tag. (Which is even better news for us!)

Since its relaunch in 2007, the brand has failed to make a remarkable impact on the fashion world - after two seasons under designer Marco Zanini.

But with hot London designer Marios Schwab to unveil his first collection for the house next month, and SJP's expert style input, we're expecting big, big things for Halston in 2010.

We can't wait to see these results! Fashion fans, watch this space...

Another horrible idea. Actor/Actresses need to stick with what they know best. Just because "Carrie Bradshaw" was all about fashion, hello STYLISTS HELPED!!! Leave the job to true fashion designers!!! This is so lame!!!!! I hate celeb designers, it's all JUST about money!!!! Most high end folks don't buy celeb designers stuff, come on!!!!
