X Factor’s Lucie Jones lands modelling contract

She may not have had the X Factor, but Lucie Jones has clearly got something, according to Select Model Management.

Oh how we all gasped at the injustice of Lucie Jones' shock exit from X Factor only a few weeks ago... (Remember that? When Simon picked Jedward over the Welsh warbler?)

Well it seems that even if a career in singing doesn't work out for the lovely Lucie, she's destined to be in front of the camera in one way or another - because the 19-year-old has just been signed by Select Model Management.

‘As soon as we saw Lucie, we recognised that she had a great look,' says Chrissie Castagnetti, co-founder of the agency.

‘As her confidence grew and her personality came through, we knew we wanted to work with her. We're looking forward to unleashing her great potential.'

And, understandably, Miss Jones is thrilled by the turn of events.

‘It's been a brilliant year. I was very flattered to even be considered by Select,' she said in an interview this weekend.

‘I love fashion, I love beauty and I love singing, so to be able to model alongside my music is the best Christmas present ever. I can't wait to get going next year!'

The stylish songstress is set to shoot her portfolio in January - so we'll be having our fingers crossed that she gets some big bookings in the New Year.

i always thought that lucie jones had huge potential.Her voice is pure and of extremely fine quality.All my family enjoy music and we agree that her voice is something very special.She has a classic beauty . Make the most of your talents lucie especially the singing.Good luck!

I was gutted when cowardly Cowell backed out of the right decision that led to Lucie's expulsion.She was my favourite and felt sure she would be in the final.

I wish her every success, and although I do believe she will be a hit singer one day, with the emphasis on accompanying videos these days this experience will leave her in good stead.

I think she has a great singing talent,and should never have gone out of the x factor to jedward, and i'm sure she'll make it in the modelling world..

i hope lucie gets far in life with her modelling but i did think cowell was very foulish to let jeward get though and not lucie and he was always complaing how he hated them

I think Lucie should do what is best for her we think she has a real talent for singing but she should do what benifits her, goodluck to ypou girl you were our favourtite to win the X factor

I think lucie can do anything she sets her mind to. she shouldn't have gone out of the x factor so early but she was a big threat to simons acts singing is her thing but modelling will work too!

I think lucie you should stick to the singing your a good singer i nearly stoped watching the show when simon chose jedward over you (lucie) i think you should give the singing another go and if this time it dont work out do the modeling im sure which ever the chose you will be good at GOOD LUCK :) BTW CHOSE SINGING :D

I've always felt that Lucie was the most attractive female in the competition, and to hear that a professional company has noticed this and acted upon it makes me very happy.

It's about time she got the credit and success she deserves.

I was disappointed when Lucy went out. Until then I had great respect for simon. I noticed when they all came on at the end. How tall and beautiful she was. Consequently I was not surprised about the model contract.

Big fan of Lucie. Should have made the last three in the XFactor. Could have career in pop music or musicals as well as modelling. Just hope someone in the music or theatre industry takes an interest in her.
