Who wore it best? Katherine Jenkins Vs. Fearne Cotton

By Sarah Karmali  on Monday 21 December 2009

Katherine Jenkins and Fearne Cotton - Who wore it best? - Fashion - Marie Claire

Katherine Jenkins and Fearne Cotton played a game of style snap when they both stepped out in this sparkling French Connection frock. But who wore it best?

Both Katherine and Fearne are big fans of their high street finds, so it came as little surprise to see them both donning this sequinned dress from French Connection.

Fearne was the first to step out in the bold-shouldered Spirit dress, way back in February, which she teamed with loose locks, red nails and chunky ankle-strap heels.

We love the fact that, despite being on the red carpet at the star-studded BAFTAs, the pretty presenter still opted to eschew high end in favour of high street.

A whopping 8 months later, and Katherine also stepped out in the very same dress, for an appearance at the 2009 Women of the Year Awards lunch.

The songstress teamed the deep green dress with towering courts and a gravity-defying up-do, dressed with a bow headband

Two stars, one fab frock. But who wore it best? Let us know your thoughts in the comments box below!

As much as I love Fearne, I have to say I think it looks better on Katherine - her up-do really allows her to show off the shoulders and neckline of the dress, which gets a bit hidden under Fearne's hair.

Definitely Fearne.

I love that dress! I think it looks better on Fearne though - I'm not loving Katheine's weird hair!

I love the way it looks like an outfit on Katherine, rather than just a dress on Fearne. And I agree with Anna that the up-do shows off the neckline and shoulders of the dress, and thus makes more of a statement. Katherine's outfit comes together with the retro touches that compliment the dress - vintage style hairband and 50s courts - and creates a 'look' rather than just 'wearing a dress'.

Definitely Fearne, it looks missmatched on Katherine with the girly bow band, it is a striking dress which suits Fearne's funky style.

Tough one but I'd have to say Katherine - I don't like Fearne's nails or shoes, but I do prefer her hair.

Fearne!!
Comment by Anne on December 21 12:59

Defo Katherine...much nicer...shoes, everything!
Comment by Nik Lud on December 21 13:07

Neither, the dress is horrible!
Comment by alice on December 21 14:50

definitely Katherine she looks like a woman whereas Fearne looks like a little girl dressed up.
Comment by Dawn on December 21 15:17

Definitely Fearne - however both pairs of shoes are awful!
Comment by Jenny on December 21 17:19

Is there a third choice ? Both look terrible ! Fearne has knobbly knees and the shoes are plain awful. Katherine's choice in footwear is not much better and the hair band makes her look too little girly. She is a beautiful woman who does not need such poor accessories. This ones a draw but the dress does not suit either. For once I think it might actually look better on me !!
Comment by Nick on December 21 21:38

Fearne for sure,soooo rock chic!
Comment by Annette on December 21 22:52

Katherine looks like Jedward with that hairdo, a big mistake. Fearne beats her hands down.
