SEE the £199 pair of tights!

Wolford Fringe Tights, £199 - Fashion News - Marie Claire

Hosiery house Wolford has created the ultimate in luxe legwear, in the form of these Fringed tights - which retail at a mere £199!

The trend for patterned tights is having a definite moment right now - seen sported by the likes of Cheryl Cole, Olivia Palermo and Fearne Cotton - but now Wolford has taken the trend one step further.

The 100 denier black tights feature tiered layers of fringing down the calf and around the ankle, and are described as the ‘ultimate in exquisite design and quality.'

‘Just because there's a recession on, we didn't want to assume that all our customers had to save money or cutback on life's luxuries,' says Tightsplease.co.uk director Charles Duncombe.

These tights are perfect for ladies who want to make a statement with their legs and really show them off,' he continues. ‘Many ladies would not bat an eye at a £199 cleavage-enhancing top.'

‘The tights are 100 denier, so they won't easily be snagged, and looked after carefully they will probably last the owners a number of wears,' he finishes.

And at just under 200 quid, we should think so too!

Wolford's Fringe tights are being made in limited numbers, and are available to buy now from www.tightsplease.co.uk.

So what do you make of the pricey designer tights - will you be splashing out and treating yourself this Christmas? Let us know in the comments box below!

No. [And I'm only writing this bit as my short comment won't be accepted!]

Absolutely ridiculous!!! I have just been to Aldi during my lunch break and picked up classy black ribbed tights with Lycra for £1.99! I like my style and spend money on my clothes but for tights - no way!!
Comment by Sharon on November 20 12:45

I could buy myself a pair of Siwy Jeans with £199, and they would last me a considerably longer time than tights that "will probably last the owners a number of wears"!

Comment by Cathy on November 20 12:54

I wouldn't pay £199 for a pair of tights if they were diamond-encrusted and last seen on Princess Di!
Comment by Natalie on November 20 12:55

For £200 they should be completely unable to snag in any way, not just "won't easily snag!"

When I saw the title I was expecting them to be encrusted with crystals or something...
Comment by Jade on November 20 12:56

Well..on great legs they will look great..mainly celebs who will buy...
Pricey for what they are..quote..last the owners a number of wears'!! O right...
As I say..celebs!
Comment by anon on November 20 12:57

They're gorgeous..but I have knee high black suede fringed boots..so dont have to be tempted..thank goodness :)))
Comment by D. McCarogher on November 20 12:59

No course not silly. but they are nice though. Will wait for someelse to produce a similar version under say £25
Comment by Don't look at me I'm shy on November 20 13:09

I LOVE THEM! They are so detailed, and look almost like leggings with feet, rather than tights, which helps to justify their cost a bit more. I'm very tempted...
Comment by katy on November 20 13:13

Never!
Comment by Leia on November 20 13:14

OK, I must admit - These are amazing! They're different and this is what we need.
£199 though is crazy - maybe £50.

Comment by Lungelo Fakude on November 20 13:14

No, i rip every pair of tights I have! Primark all the way! :-)
Comment by Emma on November 20 13:16

Amazing and very sexy! Over priced but think they'll be a best seller amongst the A listers!
Comment by Maggie on November 20 13:23

Now I do like Wolford (a very good make)and need to stock up on a few winter bits- but paying £199 for a pair of tights Mr Duncombe
(UK director) I would have to decline, despite stating they won't snag that easliy... I would hope not too!

It's bad enough when you have a special occassion or work even, when you have to wear one pair & have a spare in your purse in case of ladders eh girls...
Comment by Sandra In London on November 20 13:24

Nay, Nay and thrice Nay..............
Comment by hazel on November 20 13:29

Do they also do the washing up or something?? ;)
Comment by Beccy on November 20 13:32

No, I darn well wouldn't - how utterly ridiculous. It's amazing that people think anyone would be so foolish as to pay that.
Comment by Susan on November 20 13:33

Of course I'd wear them.....I just wouldn't buy them! :-)
Comment by Hayley on November 20 13:36

No, no, no, any extra money goes to things like Help for Heroes and the Smile Train.

Comment by Albina on November 20 13:41

It`s ridiculous; it would be ok if they were nice tights, but they`re not even tasteful. You can get nice tights by Falke for 20 pounds, why would anyone want to spend 200 pounds on these? They`re yuck to say the least.
Comment by Sophie on November 20 13:51

No way hosay.

Could EASILY make those yourself.
Comment by Lauren on November 20 13:59

what utter rubbish! they make you look like an anorexic shire pony. What planet is charles duncombe living on?? "a number of wears", "wont easily snag"! Undoubtedly some fashion-barbie will want these because they're the latest thing, but the only looks these tights will be attracting are looks of ridicule and disbelief! I wouldn't pay 99p for them!
Comment by ellen on November 20 14:30

Think I'll wait for the high street version sure to be emailed with a reasonably priced version in the very near future from new Look, Primark or Asos,t eh race is on...
Comment by Niamh Kane on November 20 14:30

Just yuck, seriously!
Comment by Helen on November 20 14:33

"Hell no!!""
Comment by Tanya on November 20 14:42

I would die to have them- I think they are absolutely gorgeous. But unfortunately I haven't got Cheryl's millions so I will just have to dream about it. No, I would not pay that much money.

Comment by Carolina on November 20 14:50

wouldn't buy them if they cost £1.99!
Comment by sue featherstone on November 20 14:58

How pathetic!! Have the fashion diva"s any brains or value of money?? Flipping senselesss.
Comment by Anne Marie on November 20 15:26

£199.00????!!??!!!! I once paid £30 for a pair of Wolford tights, and I thought that was a lot. They laddered the first time I wore them.
Comment by Andrea on November 20 16:52

'Hairy legs' springs to mind.
Comment by Heather on November 20 16:55

I think they're fab!! I'd defo wear them and for £1.99 the're a total bargain . . . .Oh, £199!! Maybe not . . .
Comment by Fiona on November 21 00:33

oh gee what do you mean it'll last a few times if you take care of them? they're supposed to last more than "a number of wears" (which sounds like less than 10), especially for that amount of money!
Comment by Chenyze on November 21 04:41

They are beautiful. I love them. If I had the body to wear them, oh my goodness I would. I love fringing and those tights are THE BUSINESS.....
Comment by Marian Rainford on November 21 09:26

I would buy them, they look gorgeous and unusual. you certainly won't see the same thing in Primark. Wolford wouldn't have made them if there was no Market for them.
Comment by Fashion addict on November 21 13:56

i really dont see anything wrong with this. some people pay thousands for a bag. if you like them why not.
Comment by sarah on November 21 21:43

I'm sorry but for that price I would expect a full winter wardrobe and change as well.
Comment by Carole on November 21 21:58

Who can afford two hundred quid for tights? I know I can't.
