Alexa Chung at the 2009 MTV Video Musc Awards: Luella dress

Today's who wore it best sees a Windsor battling it out with bonafide London style royalty, as Princess Beatrice and Alexa Chung play style snap in Luella dresses.

Giving the design its red carpet debut, the ever-stylish Ms Chung rocked the MTV Video Music Awards in her signature style - tapping one of London's favourite labels for her frock, and teaming it with patent booties, a black clutch and a long chain crucifix necklace.

Glowing make-up and a messy updo completed her Brit hip look.

A month later, Princess Bea chose the very-same style for her mother, Sarah Ferguson's, 50th birthday party. The young royal left her famous red locks loose, and added black opaque tights, platform heels and an oversized clutch.

Although Alexa is very pretty, I actually think Bea looks better - her hair is gorgeous and the dress really shows off her curves and looks better with black tights as apposed to Alexa's very skinny pins and scruffy locks!

The shape of the dress looks better on Bea because she's got some curves. But having said that, I much prefer the way that Alexa has accessorised it. So Chung wins it for me!

I think Alexa... the shape doesn't do anything for Bea. I love the fact that she is curvy, but think she should wear something to flatter - that dress makes her look larger than she actully is.

Before I clicked the link, I really thought it was going to be obvious - Alexa. But Bea surprised me. Black tights, no accessories (the dress speaks for itself) and curves made it look much cooler. Alexa just didn't fill it, therefore didn't cut it, for me. Cx

As ugly as Bea is got to say on this rare occasion she looks better out of the two simply because she has tights on! Makes a change from her regular fashion no no's!!

It looks good with bare legs, but Alexia has no curves, you need a bust to show off the hour glass shape of this style!

If I was FORCED to choose one, I'd have to say Alexa (emily @11:49 is spot on) - but if I was given free reign to say whatever I wanted, I'd have to say neither. It's a bit of a hideous dress.

Not normally known for good style but Bea, does have the figure for the dress. It's looks lost on Alexa too big on the top and shoulders she just can't fill it.

Also black tights are needed to bring out the black in the dress otherwise it is just uninteresting.

So for once Bea you look good, got a new stylist?

The dress is a mess; I would expect Bea to wear something this hideous but Alexa! Oh Alexa, you let your guard down on this one. This fussy frock does nothing for you; being as gorgeous as you are you don't need such embellishment on a garment. That being said, I'm loving the black booties and the distinctive messy hair that only you could get away with!

well typical english bad style on alexa, aweful shoes they are horrific naked legs in this weather a non and it makes the dress look slutty being so short, not to mention alexa seems flat front and back and the dress hangs off her and makes her look frumpy which the terrible shoes emphasise. beatrix on the other hand fits into the dress properly and the black tights and her simple shoes make it look classy and girly playfull at the sametime.

Definately Alexa. The way she has accessorized the dress just completes the look. From head to toe she looks great. The black tights kind of dress it up a bit, but the down hair dress it down. Bea's complete look clashes, at least for me. However, the dress is adorable and both girls are beautiful and can pull it off.

Bea wins hands down! Alexa Chung is ...very pretty but in the picture it looks as if she needs to take off the heels and pick up a lollipop.
