With Chanel, Valentino, Alexander McQueen and Chloe all in one day, Paris Fashion Week upped the ante yesterday, with the big names showing big concept shows.

Dress of the day: Who could resist Valentino's whimsically romantic party dresses? Not us!

Star spot of the day: Lily Allen took show star spotting a step further than usual, not just appearing on the front row at Chanel, but in the centre of the catwalk, where she performed her latest single - Not Fair.

Spectacle of the Day: Always one to push boundaries, Alexander McQueen wowed the fashion crowd with his spectacular show, which included robotic cameras, giant screens, and the highest heels we've spotted all season. You have to see it to believe it.

I spy a trend: Hannah MacGibbon eschewed high heels for Chloé's spring/summer '10 collection, bedecking models' well-heeled tootsies in foot-saving flats instead. Now that's a trend we'll happily embrace come spring!
