Kitten heels make a fashion comeback!
By Lucy Hutchings on Friday 2 October 2009
Fashion has a way of taking things it once deemed so wrong - think velvet, the 80s, power suits or leggings - and suddenly deciding that they are so right. The latest example? Kitten heels.
Long delegated in favour of skyscraper stilettos, little heels were back on the Milan catwalks, spotted encasing the well-heeled feet at both Marni and Missoni.
But could this latest style reincarnation all be down to a certain fashionable First Lady? Commentators have noted that Michelle Obama has a penchant for low-level heels - an essential addition to her wardrobe both for sartorial convention, and so she doesn't tower above the President.
So will this look have legs? We'll have to keep our eyes on the Paris catwalks this week to find out.

Kitten heels are great for that long length look without the back breaking torture. I find it's great when you also don't want to be seen towering over your loves also, as I'm 5'9 and my partner aka the hubby is 5'11.

I love Kitten heels, being on the slightly larger side, they are showy enough to be feminine, pretty, calf and ankle enhancing, whilst not putting too many pounds per square inch on the balls of the feet. I hope this trend stays around for a while, it would make my shoe collection in style for a change!

Kitten heels are so much more comfortable than the stupid 6" heels that you see in the shops. I can't walk in them so I do not buy them. I find it is very hard to find a cmfortable shoe with a nice heel in the shops.

Thank goodness kitten heels are back! Skyscraper heels do look great, but having seen what my aunt's feet now look like after decades of wearing them (almost breathtakingly ugly, with deformed toes, bunions and fallen arches, not to mention the constant pain and the indignity of having to wear sensible shoes all the time now), I've been bucking the trend anyway and wearing lower heels. Hopefully now there will be a wider choice of beautiful but actually wearable shoes out there to buy...

Surely kitten heels were low heels that shaped in at the centre and then out again..abut 1 and half inches??? Even so low heels are good dont give as good a leglengthener look but beat trainers nonstop if u are looking for style and comfy..
