It's every Hollywood starlets worst nightmare: you arrive at a red carpet event, only to be wearing the exact same dress as one of your fellow A-listers.

Unfortunately for Shakira and Pink, this was exactly what happened at this week's MTV Video Music Awards in LA.

In a move that is likely to have landed both starlet's stylists in hot water, the singers arrived in matching Balmain strapless studded minidresses, creating the perfect who wore it best moment!

First up, and Shakira's double take look came complete with on-trend over-the-knee black boots, a satin clutch and long and loose locks.

For Pink, classic black platform courts, chandelier earrings, and a tango-tastic tan accompanied her thigh-skimming frock.

Shakira and she's working the thigh high boots trend. Pink has too much fake tan and just looks harsh in the pretty dress.

For a tight dress like this you need to have a nice feminine hour glass shape. Pink doesn't have it, so definitely the wrong dress for her! She looks like a straight and stiff block of muscles with a lampshade around it.

No Contest, Shakira. Pink just hasn't got the legs for a mini, and the dress looks like it doesn't fit her very well either.

P!NK def wore ot best - although she looks like like she's went OTT with the fake bake, its only because Shakira looks scarily pale...

...Shakira doe not really suit this dress. It isn't her style.

I never weigh in on these but it must be Pink surely?
Shakira looks overwhelmed wiht the dress and boots, Pink looks like she is comfortable and having fun.

Pink looks unconfortable and it doesn't seem to fit her properly. Shakira is definitely the better of the two.

i think pink looks amaz! she always does. shakira looks good. looks like pink needs to chill out on the fake tan but shakira could do with some, bit to pale!!!!!!!

On one hand: Shakira has the body for it; however, those boots were poor styling and so unflattering with that gorgeous Balmain dress. Also, her hair should have been picked up to accentuate the neckline.

On the other hand: Pink's body does not compliment the dress at all. The shoes match the dress but could have been a better choice.

Overall, the dress was a poor choice on both parts.

im not really sure who wore it best, shakira wears a mini A LOT better than P!NK, but shakiras outfit is just too much with the boots and everything. P!NK is more of the tomboy type, so her total-fit body just doesnt complement her ensemble.
