First Ladies of fashion unite in white
By Lucy Hutchings on Monday 8 June 2009
First Ladies of fashion, Michelle Obama and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, united in stylish white this weekend, as they came together for the D-Day landing memorial ceremony in France.
Perhaps in a move to dispel the fashion scrutiny that both women face whenever within standing distance of the other, they were almost identical in white dresses, both belted at the waist and teamed with bare legs and kitten heels.
Opting for her favourite fashion house, the French First Lady's cap-sleeve dress was by Dior, while Mrs O opted for New York designers, with a Narciso Rodriguez coat and Michael Kors shift dress.
And though the matching looks might not have sparked the usual fashion face-off debate, instead the First Ladies came under fire for choosing a light hue for the sombre occasion.
In contrast, Sarah Brown stuck to more traditional attire, with a sober brown dress.

Really, some needs to tell Mickey how to dress.
She looks terrible, as always.
The First Lady of France looks great.
