Celebs out for Burberry Day in NYC

Stars including Orlando Bloom, Blake Lively, Claire Danes and Alexa Chung were in New York yesterday to help the city celebrate its very first Burberry Day.

Held on the day Burberry switched on the lights above its new New York HQ, Mayor Bloomberg himself was responsible for decreeing it officially Burberry Day – and celebs in town were only too happy to get all dressed up to celebrate it.

The Brits were out in force at the evening shindig, held at The New York Palace Hotel, with Orlando Bloom posing for photos with Burberry creative director Christopher Bailey, while Hugh Dancy danced with fiancée Claire Danes.

It's been a big week for the iconic British label, with the announcement it will return to the official London Fashion Week schedule this September, taking a sabbatical from its usual catwalk home in Milan, to help LFW celebrate its 25th anniversary.
