Diane Kruger wows in Jason Wu

Diane Kruger followed in the ever-stylish footsteps of Michelle Obama yesterday, stepping out in a stunning gown by one of the First Lady's favourite designers, Jason Wu.

For her Wu moment, Kruger wore a romantic cream chiffon gown from the designer's autumn/winter '09 collection, to open the Jaeger-LeCoultre jewellery store, during the Cannes Film Festival.

She joins Wu's burgeoning list of high profile fans, which most notably includes Mrs O, but also spans Hollywood's most stylish stars, such as Katie Holmes and Jessica Alba.

The designer shot to fame when the fashionable First Lady wore his ethereal floor-length asymmetric ivory gown for husband Barack's inauguration ball. As the pictures were broadcast around the world, Wu's name instantly shot into the style stratosphere.

Kruger is attending the festival for the premiere of new movie, Inglourious Basterds, and is set to join co-star Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie, on the red carpet.
